Maureen Britton, Executive Director

     Maureen has many years of organizational development and leadership experience in both the corporate and non profit arenas.  She served as Sr. Corporate Consultant to HEB both as an employee and a contractor for eight years.  Other consulting clients include among others, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, the Institutes for Organizational Management, Implementation Management Associates, the Atlanta Consulting Group, and the Children’s Trust Fund.  Maureen has also served as a founding member on the Boards of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and Communities-in-Schools/Central Texas and was instrumental in introducing the Hispanic Mother/Daughter Program to UT.  She was Education Director for the Pebble Project and for the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, as well as Executive Director of the Fund for Child Care Excellence.  Maureen’s greatest interest is in supporting initiatives that focus on the health and well-being of children.

Mohan Rao

Mohan Rao, Spatial Data Analyst

       With a B.A. in Computer Science (University of Texas at Austin) and a Master of Applied Geography (Texas State University-San Marcos), Mohan Rao has a strong background in data and spatial analysis.  Mr. Rao has more than 25 years of experience in software development, data architecture, and database performance analysis.  Since 2005 he has applied his programming, database, and GIS skills to gather, analyze, and display information associated with environmental and social issues.  Mr. Rao is especially interested in the challenges involving visual display of complex data.  He joined the Children’s Optimal Health in May, 2009.


Susan Millea, Ph. D., Community GIS Facilitator

       Dr. Susan Millea has an extensive background in health, mental health, education and social service delivery, with a focus on quality improvement.  A recipient of the American Association for Artificial Intelligence’s International Award for Applied Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Millea has over 15 years experience in health and human service information system design and implementation. She currently serves as a consultant to the Children’s Optimal Health initiative. Dr. Millea is a member of the American Medical Informatics Association and a post-doctoral student in the Biomedical Informatics program at Oregon Health Science University.  Her interests extend to the implementation of health IT for underserved populations, both urban and rural.

Matt Balthazar, Project Coordinator

       With a B.A. in Anthropology and a minor in Business from Washington University in St. Louis, Matt has served as a Project Coordinator for Children’s Optimal Health since June 2008. Prior to joining COH, Matt was a member of the Teach for America corps where he taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade special education, math and science, in inner city St. Louis.
